Use of Images
The Image Library provides a collection of images for use in educational activities. Image donors must agree that their photos can be used freely for educational purposes. In turn, we ask that users of these images acknowledge the original image donor whenever possible.
About Registration
Biogeosciences.org does not collect personally identifying information without your specific knowledge and consent thereof. We do not share such information with any third parties, and no third party has access to your stored information. Biogeoscience.org stores usernames, passwords and email addresses in password protected directories and publicly inaccessible databases. We will never sell or distribute email addresses and/or other personally identifying information to third parties without your explicit permission, nor use it for unapproved commercial purposes. Our policy is to protect the privacy and confidentiality of our visitors and users. If you have concerns or questions about any aspect of our privacy policies, please do not hesitate to contact us. We welcome your feedback.
Submitting Images
Anyone is allowed to upload images, although all images will be reviewed. The administrators and moderators reserve the right to delete any inappropriate photos. If in doubt, contact the Web Editor.
- Click on the "Go to the Image Gallery" link at the top right, then click on a category to access images in the Gallery
- Go to the "Upload" button in the top right
- Click the "browse" button to locate the image on your computer, and then click "open".
- Please completely fill out all the fields, including a sentence or two describing what the image is.
- When you have completed the upload form, click "upload file". A message will appear telling you whether or not the upload was successful and another entry form will appear
- If you have no more images to load simply close the entry form
- **Note** Your images will not appear automatically, they will be reviewed and approved (usually within a couple of days)
Image Size and Format
- Images should be sent in .jpg or .gif format
- The gallery will automatically reduce the dimensions of any larger photos to make thumbnails.
- Images should be 1.0 MB or less
- Only 1 image per post
- Please limit your image posting to 5 images per 24 hour period
